Ablation of tartar ultrasonic: consists in the removal of tartar deposits on the teeth (plaque removal) and is performed with an ultrasonic handpiece which guarantees an effective but gentle removal of tartar, minimizing any disturbance of sensitivity. The ultrasound can disrupt the tartar without damaging the surface of the teeth. It is important that the treatment is gentle to avoid even minimal removal of dental tissue which, when added in the course of time, may cause irreversible damage

Tooth Whitening air flow: after proper plaque removal, the oral hygiene session ends with polishing the tooth surface with the aid of a jet consisting of a mixture of air, water and bicarbonate powder (air flow) that allows to remove surface stains. Not to be confused with the professional whitening with carbamide peroxide.

Scaling and Root planing: the stationing and the proliferation of anaerobic bacteria (living without oxygen) adhering to the root of the tooth, determines the real “pockets” that cause periodontitis. Gingival scaling, is the removal of the deposits of bacterial plaque, tartar, of food debris that have accumulated in periodontal pockets. Together with root planing, scaling, is a treatment that is effective in promoting complete healing in the early stages of periodontitis and possibly reduces the use of surgery in advanced stages of the disease. In the case of detachment, lowering and inflammation of the gums, polishing the root surface perfectly executed, aims at promoting reattachment of the supporting tissues to the tooth surface. The scaling and polishing are performed with the use of precision dental instruments said curettes.

Advices for proper oral hygiene

• For an effective removal of bacterial plaque it is necessary to rub your teeth with a toothbrush immediately after the main meals (2-3 times daily) for at least three minutes, with a suitable toothbrush in accordance with your gum sensitivity, and the toothbrush has to be replaced every 2/3 months .
• Avoid brushing your teeth with horizontal movement: in this way the plaque is not removed but moved in the dental interstices, where it stagnates facilitating the formation of tartar and tooth decay.
• Clean the teeth of the lower arch with a rotary movement directed from below upwards. For the upper arch, hold the brush so that the bristles are angled about 45 °, and brush down performing a rotary movement from the gum towards the tooth.
• To clean the inside of the incisors and canines the toothbrush must be positioned vertically, cleaning one by one. While for the cleaning of the surface of the chewing rear teeth is appropriate to proceed with movements from behind towards the front. • Use everyday dental floss or interdental brush for the proper removal of food deposits in the dental interstices.
• Rinse your mouth at least once a day, with a specific mouthwash.
